“Africa is an incredible place…its people and culture are precious. And when you see first-hand the deplorable conditions that exist in Africa’s water sector, there is just no way you can turn your back knowing 6,000 children are dying from disease everyday simply because the water they must consume is contaminated.
This is the 21st century. If we all gave just a little, the problem would be solved and we would save a lot of lives.” While on her first stay in Africa, Teresa spent time with Iris Ministries, living amongst the poor, working with orphans and traveling throughout the bush regions, visiting various tribes, delivering food and sharing the gospel. That first visit left a lasting impact.
“America is truly blessed. If you have running water, a toilet, more than one meal a day and more than one change of clothes, you are rich.”
Teresa has a bachelor’s degree in journalism and communications media. She’s spent much of her life on Erie television as a reporter and anchor with the abc and fox affiliates. She also has extensive background in video production and marketing having previously served as both media director with First Assembly of God Church and as a marketing specialist with NextMedia.
Teresa has also done missions work in other countries and believes in the truth that you can never out give God. “Every time I think I’m helping to bless someone, I’m the one who gets blessed and it always changes my life for the better.”
“Life is an incredible gift. Just being able to wake up every morning and breathe is a gift. If we can, why not pass that gift on to the 6,000 kids who, statistics say, will die tomorrow if they don’t get fresh, clean water to drink.”
